Snailholt is a traditional 17th century farmhouse and former fulling mill, nestling in the valley of the Washford river.
Snailholt is approached along a private track, which runs alongside St. Decuman’s Church and right past the famous Holy Well of St. Decuman, renowned in the past for its miraculous cures! The ghost of a white lady is reputed to walk this quiet country lane at times, but thankfully has yet to be seen by guests!
Snailholt is ideally situated for your enjoyment of this beautiful area, with plenty of places to visit along with unsurpassed varieties of scenery and panoramic coastal views. Furthermore the famous and attractive West Somerset Steam Railway runs within sight of the farmhouse.
Your accommodation will be in large double or twin bedroom, charmingly decorated and with en-suite available. All rooms have tea making facilities and a tray of tea and biscuits awaits your arrival. Guests have their own entrance, so you can come and go as you please. There is access to the old walled gardens, which provide plenty of covered seating and tranquillity.
We offer a substantial English Breakfast, using local produce and our own free range eggs. Every effort is made to cater for individual requirements on request.
We realise how important your stay is in our beautiful area and town and we do our very best to make your visit one to remember!
We are open from April until October, with a tariff of £80 per room (£60 single occupancy on a minimum stay of 2 or more nights.) There is a discount of 10% on bookings of 3 days or more on off-peak dates.
